Sometimes we think we have to travel great distances to witness the beauty of God's wonderful creation on earth but really there is beauty right in our backyard.

Daily routines - we all go through them every day. My early morning routine consists of rolling out of bed, heading downstairs to begin the very difficult job of waking the children up to go to school, and heading out to the back porch to feed my sweet dog, Tilley. It was a very early morning when I was completing this task and looked up to view one of the most beautiful sunrises I have seen right in my backyard. I rushed to my office, grabbed my camera, ran out the back door, and captured this absolute beautiful scene of morning on the lake.
Personally, I love the whole composition of this photograph. I did not manipulate the colors of this image - it is truly the colors I experienced that early morning as the sun broke through the darkness and the fog began to rise. I love the simple reflections seen in the water and the tranquility experienced.
